Australia is one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world, with a large portion of species endemic to Australia. Preserving this wealth of biodiversity is important for future generations. Conservationist and International award winning photo journalist, Doug Gimesy automates inspiration to conserving wildlife through his incredible visual capture of animals. Heather brilliantly utilises her highly developed award winning graphic skills to make master pieces of art as well as looking after zoo stakeholders with her welcoming personality. Together they produced a visual pictorial for children about the Upside Down life of grey headed foxes.
ABOUT Doug and Heather
Doug Gimesy is an international award-winning conservation and wildlife photojournalist and associate fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP). Doug’s images have been showcased in publications such as National Geographic, Australian Geographic, BBC Wildlife and the New York Times. Initially trained as a zoologist and microbiologist, Doug also holds a Diploma of Education, a Masters of Environment and a Masters of Bioethics.
Heather is an award-winning media graphic artist and passionate conservationist. She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science, an Honours degree focusing on Conservation Psychology, and a post-graduate qualification in Antarctic Studies.
